       Generally speaking , when tow person feel a liking for one another , their relationship develops into friendship . This liking may arise from various causes , but the principal reason is a community of interests . Thatvis , if two persons are interested in the same thing , they come together . Thus , a boy who collects stamps will easily make friend , with another who has the same hobby .

        In this world , where the struggle for existence seems to be the rule of life , friendship is a great boon to mankind . Man needs friends . 

     The value of true friendship is immense . There is saying that a friendship in need is a friend indeed . In his most dejected moments , a person qould look forward to somebody for solace . It is a friend only who would come along to share his dejection .

       It is difficult to choose friend . These are many persons who come to us as our friends but they prove false to us . They become friendly with us for their personal interest . Such friends leave us at the time of need . They are called " fairy - wheather friends " .

      Therw is a proverb thatba man is known to the company he keeps . We must not keep company with the wicked . Many persons have been found to ruin themselves by such company . We generally acquire the qualities of those with whom we associate . Thereforeb, we should be very careful in choosing our friends .
